We Are Sad To Report The Death Of Jeff West

Jeff West, who was a member of the ICOMOS-UK Executive Committee from 2006-2012, sadly died just before Christmas. Some of you may have known him in his former roles at English Heritage where he rose to become Policy Director between 2002 and 2005. He then decided to train for the priesthood and was ordained in 2008 and appointed Rural Dean for Deddington.

Jeff was a very active member and Trustee of ICOMOS-UK. He was a part of the Research and Recording Committee from 1997 to 2004,  and Chaired the Development Committee between 2009 and 2012. He was particularly helpful in advising on strategic direction and in analyzing and succinctly defining just what ICOMOS-UK should be good at. Our current aims and objectives still reflect many of his words. It was his quiet, measured and seemingly modest approach that made him effective – as well as his likeable nature. He will be much missed.

If any member would like to express their condolences to his family, in particular his wife Juliet, please contact the office who can forward your messages.
