Online Roundtable: Digital Twins and cultural heritage – different disciplinary perspectives
Online event, 26th November, 1-3pm
Join us to explore how Digital Twins transform cultural heritage across disciplines from preservation, analysis, interpretation to public engagement.
About the event
The digital twin is an attempt to capture a digital representation of a real-world physical objects/buildings/sites, system, or process. The Digital Twins supports practical purposes such as simulation, integration, testing, monitoring, and maintenance. In a heritage context, the digital twins have wide applications that vary from 1) documenting and recording the physical objects, 2) establishing archival materials, 3) analysing energy and structural performance and 4) developing process of materials analysis including decay repair and conservation.
Therefore, ICOMOS-UK Digital Technology National Committee is inviting you to its 2nd round table discussion with experts and researchers exploring the contribution of Digital Twins to cultural heritage from different angles and disciplines. The round table discussion aims to provide insights into applying the notion of digital twins in different fields of study and exploring opportunities, challenges and data considerations linked to these processes. The discussion will aim to highlight best practices of using digital twins widely in the heritage sector.
The event will feature the speakers:
