INTACH UK Trust Grants
INTACH UK Trust Travel Grants
Applications for grants to support training, study or research in India are invited twice a year on 31st May and 30th November. Only applicants who are UK citizens and normally resident in the UK are eligible for INTACH UK Trust travel grants.
Grants may be for any discipline in the humanities. Preference will be given to work in archaeology, ancient Indian art, architecture, conservation studies, geography, history, numismatics, museum studies, the history of technology, crafts, textiles, dance, drama, art, scientific applications to disciplines under humanities and any other related disciplines in humanities.
Scholarships may cover air passage to India, medical insurance, and in some cases subsistence
allowance, internal travel, and payment of fees to approved institutions.
All applications for travel grants will need to be endorsed by two appropriate, suitably qualified
or experienced people who can act as referees for the applicants.
Grants offered by the Trustees normally cover one of the following:
- (a) Junior travel grants to enable undergraduates or postgraduates to study topics related to a special study or dissertation
- (b) Scholarships with a modest subsistence allowance for postgraduate study at an Indian university or comparable institution
- (c) Research fellowships to enable postgraduate students and established scholars to undertake research at Indian universities and institutions
- (d) Senior travel grants to enable established scholars and craftsmen to give lecture courses, conduct workshops or contribute to conservation programmes
The Trustees are also prepared to consider applications for travel grants for British participants in cultural exchange programmes or to take up artistic residencies.

INTACH UK Trust Project Grants
Grants for conservation work will not normally cover the entire cost of projects and grants will therefore need to be supported by funds from other sources. As applications for support normally greatly exceed available funds, INTACH UK Trust supports those projects or proposals which it considers best fit its remit, demonstrate good practice and offer the prospect of delivering significant conservation benefits. Grants rarely exceed £2,000. There are two different application procedures:
1) For UK Citizens
Applications for project grants, to support conservation projects in India, are invited annually on 31st
May from UK citizens normally resident in the UK. Projects will normally be delivered through locally
based organisations in India.

Indian based organisations for conservation projects in India. Applications for grants to support
these conservation projects are invited annually on 31st May.
